Stephanie remembers her grandma thanks to the reading of stories with heroes

Stephanie loved reading in her free time. She was very shy and imaginative, and she could remember her grandmother when she read because she had told her fairy tales which used to have a charming prince and a happy ending. Now that her grandmother was dead, reading helped her keep the connection with the past as she had the feeling that little granny Gloria was there, so home could be anywhere she could read a story her grandmother had told her. She could read anything, from a novel about Robin Hood to a children´s book about Shrek or a comic about heroes such as Batman, Spiderman or Superman. It was a good way of escaping from ordinary life, because as a consequence of her grandmother ´s death, she and her mother had moved far away to a completely different neighborhood where they could afford the rent. It wasn´t strange for Stephanie to have dinner alone as her mother had to do extra hours as a waitress in order to carry the load of their debts. She was a very good student but her classmates ignored her because they couldn´t understand her. They said she was boring because instead of going out with them she would always waste time reading a fictional story. They also said that she was crazy because she lived in a world of fantasy. But in fact, she was sensitive and realistic, completely aware of what was around, she just didn´t like it.
